Chris Packham is launching Tick Awareness Month this May in a bid to encourage pet owners to be more aware of ticks and the potential risk of disease transmission. The TV presenter and naturalist who travels regularly to France with his dogs, has seen at first hand the devastating impact on people and pets of tick-borne diseases such as Lyme Disease and Canine Babesiosis. From the studios of Sunrise Radio comes a curious and charming blend of two great loves: the companionship of animals and the universal language of music. This isn't a training guide or a veterinary chat; instead, it's a gentle exploration of the unique space where creatures and chords intersect. Each episode in this collection might pair the calming influence of certain melodies with stories of pet adoption, or perhaps feature soundscapes inspired by the natural world, from birdsong symphonies to the rhythmic purr of a cat. You'll hear how certain tunes can affect animal behaviour, discover music historically inspired by beloved pets, and even find playlists curated for different species. It’s a quiet, thoughtful corner of the audio world where the warmth of a furry friend meets the comfort of a perfect melody. Tune in to this distinctive Pets / Animal Podcasts series for a listening experience that feels like a peaceful afternoon spent with a loyal companion and a perfectly chosen record playing in the background. The connection between life's simpler joys-a wagging tail, a familiar tune-is celebrated here, offering a respite from the noise of the everyday.
