http://www.livesinthebalance.org Stefan Molyneux of Freedomain Radio interviews Dr. Ross Greene on how to solve problems with your kids. Dr. Greene is author of the highly acclaimed books The Explosive Child and Lost at School. He is also Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, staff psychologist at the Cambridge Health Alliance, senior lecturer in the school psychology program in the Department of Education at Tufts University, and adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech. Dr. Greene consults extensively to families, general and special education schools, inpatient and residential facilities, and systems of juvenile detention, and lectures widely throughout the world. His research has been funded by, among others, the National Institute on Drug Abuse/National Institutes of Mental Health, the Stanley Medical Research Institute, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Maine Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.

Stefan Molyneux brings his philosophical background to the complex, everyday world of raising children in Philosophical Parenting-The Series from Freedomain. Rather than offering a simple list of rules or quick fixes, this series digs into the underlying principles that guide healthy family dynamics and child development. Each episode applies a long-term, reasoned perspective to the challenges and joys parents face, from setting boundaries and fostering communication to nurturing independence and critical thinking in young minds. The discussions stem from the broader context of Freedomain Radio, but here the focus remains squarely on the practical application of philosophy within the home. You'll hear explorations of how foundational ethical ideas translate into daily interactions, aiming for a family life built on respect, truth, and voluntary cooperation. This podcast is for anyone looking to move beyond reactive parenting and instead build a thoughtful, consistent framework for their family relationships. The conversations provide a space to reflect on the deeper 'why' behind parental decisions, making it a resource for those who believe raising children is one of the most profound philosophical endeavors we can undertake.
