Rick Franzblau on Bucketing Athletes, Arm Care, and Reverse Engineering the Sport of Baseball

Rick Franzblau on Bucketing Athletes, Arm Care, and Reverse Engineering the Sport of Baseball

Author: Mike Robertson August 9, 2024 Duration: 1:02:41

In this day and age, how do you find ways to truly “stand out” as a strength and conditioning or performance coach?

Why is it important to understand the game, and then work backwards when designing a training program?

And how do you know when what started off as “good” adaptations have actually started to NEGATIVELY IMPACT your athletes?

If you’ve ever thought about any of these questions, then you’re going to love today’s episode!

Rick Franzblau has spent close to 20 years at Clemson University. He’s currently is in his ninth year as director of Olympic sports performance, and 10th with baseball. At Clemson, Franzblau has worked with 11 ACC championship track & field squads, eight individual NCAA champions and seven track & field Olympians. In 2021, he worked with the national championship men’s soccer team.

And in this episode, we’re going to take a deep dive into biomechanics, arm care, and helping your athletes perform at their highest level!

It starts with output and we start to peel back layers in the decision tree there.
