Somewhere in New Brunswick

There's a particular warmth that comes from sharing stories, a feeling Pierre Martin Folk Art captures perfectly. Hosted by folk artist Pierre Martin, this podcast is an intimate audio gallery where traditional tales from Quebec and Acadia are given new life. Imagine settling in for a quiet moment, as if gathered by a fireside, and hearing these short, evocative narratives unfold. The telling is personal and unhurried, often accompanied by the quiet presence of Jack the cat, who seems to listen along with you. Each episode is a small, handcrafted piece of oral tradition, focusing on the visual and emotional textures of folk art through story. Rather than lectures or analysis, you'll find a gentle immersion into the characters, landscapes, and subtle morals that have shaped these cultural stories. For anyone with an interest in the arts, heritage, or simply a well-told tale, this series offers a unique and calming space. It’s a podcast that feels less like a broadcast and more like a personal invitation into Pierre Martin’s creative world, where every story is a brushstroke on a much larger canvas.
