The Guiltiest of Pleasures

The Guiltiest of Pleasures

Author: PCFM Podcast August 31, 2022 Duration: 57:22
You wake up early, work out, drink your protein shake and get right to work building your life and career. You listen to all the self-improvement podcasts (including this one), read all the Dave Goggins and Jocko Willink books.  You work hard! You play hard! You keep you eyes on the prize, your nose to the grindstone and your feet firmly planted on the solid rock of responsibility….and you’re completely exhausted.

Sometimes in the midst of all of life's challenges you just need to take a break and indulge in some simple joy and guilty pleasures. These films, tv shows, or video games may not be very good, and Cam and Izzy will deny it if you tell anyone they like them, but they just feel good and that’s all the excuse they need.

Join us, as we walk through the garden of our guiltiest of pleasures and reveal all the garbage Cam and Iz like to partake in and tell no one about...until now!

A fun game of "Is This Making Me Hungry?" is the dessert to the rest of this episode's main course. A delightful aperitif to cleanse your palette after wading through PCFM's worst habits.  Support the show

Ever wonder how a real tactical operator would handle a zombie outbreak or critique the latest Hollywood sniper scene? That's the territory explored in Pop Culture Field Manual, where hosts Cam and Israel apply their hard-earned Special Operations experience to the worlds of film, television, and video games. This isn't just another review show. Each episode feels like a debrief, unpacking the action, weapons, and military tropes in your favorite blockbusters and games with a unique blend of expertise and genuine fan enthusiasm. Their analysis cuts through Hollywood gloss to discuss what feels authentic, what's pure fantasy, and why it matters to the story. You'll hear them trade stories and "hot takes" with the easy rapport of two friends who've been in the trenches, both real and metaphorical. The conversation is grounded, often funny, and always informed by a perspective you rarely find in entertainment commentary. Tune in for a deep dive into the mechanics of pop culture spectacle, where the discussion might jump from the latest streaming series to the practicality of a video game's loadout. New episodes of this engaging podcast drop every Wednesday, ready for your playlist.
