Israel deliberately targets journalists & medics – Steve Sweeney

In this powerful first-hand account, journalist Steve Sweeney describes surviving a deliberate Israeli airstrike that targeted him and his colleague while reporting for RT News in south Lebanon – a targeted attack on journalists that can only be described as a war crime. The attempt on Comrade Sweeney’s life was unsuccessful, but left him with a shrapnel wound through his left arm, and Steve explains exactly why he believes Israel knew who and where they were. He and his crew were filming at the destroyed Kazmiyeh Bridge, in full view of a Lebanese military post whose occupants had cleared them for filming. Beyond his personal experience, Sweeney provides crucial on-the-ground reporting about Israel’s latest ethnic-cleansing operation. This time on a scale even larger than the 1948 Nakba. The systematic destruction of bridges to cut off southern Lebanon from the rest of the country, and the displacement of one million people (20 percent of Lebanon's population) are all part of a long-held Israeli objective of seizing all Lebanese land to the south of the Litani River – a part of the Greater Israel project. Steve exposes how the Israelis, just as they did for more than two years in Gaza, are routinely and relentlessly destroying civilian infrastructure. He also documents the heroic work of Lebanese health workers, who themselves are being systematically targeted.
