As imperialism decays, political repression and the suppression of free speech intensify, specifically aimed at silencing anti-imperialist messages and organised resistance. The ruling class deliberately conflates opposition to the colonial project of Israel with hatred of Jewish people. Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. The IHRA definition of antisemitism is being weaponised to suppress Palestine solidarity, criminalise dissent, and erode free speech for anti-imperialists.
