Psybient.org Podcast -43- Anoebis - Tribute to Psybient.org The concept of the mix : "Most people know Anoebis for uptempo goa-trance music, but my love for ambient is also very big, so it was a pleasure to record something more slow and deep again! 🙂 As I believe music is a powerful tool that can stand above politics and hate, I had 1 thing in mind with this set: Unity! 🙂 That's why I chose certain tracks of certain labels and ended the mix with a track called "Prayer". I believe this type of music brings us together! We are all one"! bio: Anoebis is an old school goa-trance addicted international dj, playing this kind of music as much as possible for people that love to dance hard and float around on classic goa-trance! 🙂 But thats not my only love... I also like to play very floating melodic ambient and melodic forest music once in a while. Besides that I (and Mars) are also the managers of Suntrip Records! :) The story of Anoebis starts in 1998. In that year I discovered goa-trance. Immediately I was SO convinced of that music that I bought all the cds I could buy! Pretty soon I had 200 cds which resulted in a first dj-set during newyear 2000. Around that period I didn’t dj alone. Mostly I played together with a friend called Dave (dj name Paprika) and together we were called PaprikanoebiS. Because Dave was too busy with his studies I played alone since 2001 and before I realised I was playing more or less every weekend. The first years of the new millennium were hard. Around that period I was one of the last djs playing “melodic goa trance”, the old school style. Because I loved that style so much and it seemed more or less dead, I and a good friend (Mars/Fabien) deceided to start our own music label called Suntrip Records. Not much later melodic goa-trance started to revive in Belgium and some other countries in the world, and this resulted in many parties with only “old /newschool goa-trance” 🙂 This meant little sleep for me, but lots of joy! And for some obscure reasons this love for melodic goa trance continues untill today! Since 2010 my career also exploded more internationally...So I hope many more mindblowing experiences will come soon! :) I have checked on how many parties I played by now, and in 2022 it must have been around 800 parties in my life… Mostly in Belgium of course, but in a lot of other countries as well... In more or less every European country, but also in Israel, Japan, Brasil, Egypt and more... Also, I am lucky to say I played on many festivals with a big name such as: Boom Festival, Psy Fi, Lost Theory Festival, ZNA Festival, SUN Festival, Apsara, Samsara, Freedom,... 🙂 Altough I’m doing this for a long time now I still love this music (it’s so deep in my heart, you can not imagine) and I still love dj-ing.
