Associate Professor New's research involves developing molecular imaging tools to understand the interactions of metals with cellular functions, with a focus on fluorescent and magnetic resonance sensors. In this lecture, she presents progress made in studying three main aspects of cellular inorganic chemistry: imaging the metabolites of metal-containing drugs; tools to study cellular metal pools; and studies of redox homeostasis of cells varies with drug treatment.
