Bakunawa was a mighty moon eating dragon from Philippine mythology. The Bakunawa is said to have been so obsessed with the seven moons that it determined to eat them all, managing six and leaving only the one that we now have. The myth of Bakunawa is one of the most creative explanations of a natural event in mythology, telling the tale of the lunar eclipse.
