Comprehensive Overview of Truth 78 Resources and Books w/ Sally Michael

Author: Lee Ann Mancini March 7, 2024 Duration: 0:00
“Our vision is that the next generations may know, honor and treasure God, setting their hope in Christ alone so they may live as faithful disciples for the glory of God.” -Sally Michael. Sally Michael is a co-founder of Truth78 and has authored curricula and books marked by a passion for developing God-centered resources for children's spiritual development. For 16 years, she served as a minister for children at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, under the leadership of John Piper and her husband, David. Sally and David live in Indianapolis, Indiana. They enjoy spending time with their two adult daughters and three grandchildren. During this episode, Sally talks about her organization, Truth78, and the critical role of creating biblically faithful material to raise the next generation to know and love God. Key Takeaways: Truth 78 is a ministry dedicated to serving the next generation by inspiring and equipping families through comprehensive discipleship practices. Its vision is to instill in children a profound knowledge, honor, and reverence for God and to guide them in living as faithful disciples for the glory of God. Mothers: Disciplers of the Next Generation is a booklet that empowers mothers to take on the vital responsibility of leading their children toward salvation and nurturing their growth in faith. Helping Children to Understand the Gospel is a booklet designed to assist parents in preparing children to comprehend and respond to the gospel within the context of their spiritual development. Her book The Very Bad News & The Very Good News, tailored for children aged 4 to 7, serves as a tool to help teach children that even though the bad news is that people have sin in their hearts, there is sickness and death, problems and pain, there is good news that God sent his only son to take all of this away from us. It offers a simple gospel presentation using the overarching themes of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. Her new book series, Bible Verses to Remember, is geared toward teaching preschoolers the art of scripture memorization. The three parent pages at the end of each book challenge parents to prioritize the spiritual nurture of their children, teach parents how to use the book to instruct children’s minds to engage with their hearts, and show how to help children apply these Bible verses in everyday life. The five-step process for helping children memorize scripture is to reference the verse, repeat the verse, repeat the reference, review the verse, and discuss the verse.
