Pi Lure Module

Pi Lure Module

Author: Adafruit Industries August 15, 2016 Duration: 2:52
In this project we're milling a cover out of acrylic for a new 3D printed project. This looks like a Lure Module from the game Pokémon Go, but we're using it to find Pokémon. Using a Raspberry Pi Zero, and some python code, it connects to the unoffical Niantic API and requests when Pokémon spawn near by a given location. Adafruit Industries has long been focused on making technology accessible, and their Raspberry Pi podcast is a direct extension of that mission. It’s a space where curiosity about this small, affordable computer meets practical, hands-on guidance. Rather than just defining the Raspberry Pi as a low-cost ARM GNU/Linux box, the discussions here explore what that actually means for your projects. You’ll hear conversations that delve into the intersection of hardware and software, often centered on Adafruit's own specially designed components and how they unlock the Pi's potential. This isn't about abstract theory; it's about the tangible steps between having a board and building something functional with it. Tuning into this podcast feels like joining a workshop where the hosts share a genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving and creative electronics. The tone is welcoming but assumes a drive to tinker, making it a great resource for both beginners finding their footing and experienced makers looking for specific insights. Each episode contributes to a broader, collective effort to learn and share knowledge, embodying Adafruit's core goal through the lens of this versatile little computer.
