Human healthcare has seen similar challenges and various teams around the world have been using the 'Joy in work' framework to battle burnout and stay fulfilled professionally. Angie and her team have been trialling this framework in veterinary settings, learning which steps help connect veterinary teams in meaning and purpose, with the aim of improving satisfaction and even feeling a buzz from their work. They have seen that it is not only possible, it can be a fundamental step to ensuring continued excellence in patient care and client experiences, even in these challenging times. This podcast, presented by RCVS Knowledge, delves into how the principles of evidence-based medicine can be directly applied to improve care for a wide range of animals, from family pets to livestock. Each episode features discussions with clinicians, researchers, and specialists who explore the practical interpretation of scientific studies, clinical guidelines, and systematic reviews. Listeners will gain insights into critically appraising new information, implementing proven techniques, and navigating the complexities of treatment decisions when definitive evidence is still emerging. Geared towards veterinary professionals and students, the content also resonates with dedicated pet owners in the science and family categories who seek a deeper understanding of animal health. The overall aim is to foster a culture of informed inquiry within the veterinary community, moving beyond tradition to prioritize the best available evidence for every patient.
