Romans 4:13-17: The Distinction Between Faith & Works

Romans 4:13-17: The Distinction Between Faith & Works

Author: Dale Partridge March 8, 2023 Duration: 21:17
How should faith and works relate to one another? And if we're saved by faith, what role do works play? Our works are not the means to procuring the promise of God through Christ. Faith is. Many Christians have blurred the line between faith and works, and need to see that there are dramatic distinctions between these two things. Faith is a gift of God, and the Christian's work is something that God has prepared for us because we have been saved by faith. We must have a faith that is desirous of good works, one that says "I long to do the will of my Father because He first loved me and saved me." In this episode of Real Christianity, pastor Dale Partridge talks about the distinction between faith and works, and how we should push fellow Christians to do good works, without it becoming legalism.

Dale Partridge sits down each week to tackle the complex questions that often linger in the minds of believers, moving beyond simple platitudes to explore the substance of faith. In Real Christianity, these aren't abstract debates; they're grounded, practical discussions addressing the theological puzzles and real-life pastoral situations that people actually face. Every episode is a concise, focused conversation, typically wrapping up in ten to fifteen minutes, making it a thoughtful companion for a daily commute or a quiet moment of reflection. You'll hear Dale draw from scripture and lived experience to provide clarity on topics that can feel confusing or overwhelming, all with the aim of making faith feel more accessible and deeply rooted. This podcast cuts through the noise, offering a space where curiosity meets conviction, and where difficult questions are met with thoughtful, biblically-informed perspectives. It’s for anyone seeking a more authentic and understood spiritual life, one honest conversation at a time.
