We need JOY! And what better joy than to get into a romance. This week we have an interview with Teralyn Mitchell, romance and fantasy author and creator of the Rosa Oaks Series. We talk about her series, standalones, and what makes her drawn to the romance genre.

About Teralyn: Teralyn Mitchell is a contemporary & fantasy romance author who loves creating unique, multi-dimensional characters who face everyday issues that her readers can relate to. She writes the kind of books she likes to read whether they are about twenty-somethings living in the city or princesses and princes trying to find their way in the world. She moved back to her hometown in the south a few years ago and is currently living in a packed house, full of love, laughter, and chaos. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading, watching sports or reruns of her favorite sitcoms.

There’s a particular comfort in losing yourself in a romantic story, whether it’s on screen or on the page. Romance in Colour is that feeling turned into conversation, hosted by real-life friends Tati R. and Yaki E. Tati, a romance author, and Dr. Yaki, a psychologist, share more than just a friendship-they share a deep, abiding love for romance narratives and a specific lens shaped by their experiences. They aren’t just reviewing plots; they’re diving into the emotional mechanics, the cultural touchstones, and the specific joys of seeing stories through a Black Xennial perspective. You’ll hear the easy rapport of two friends who get why a certain trope works or why a character’s journey resonates, blending professional insight with genuine fan enthusiasm.
