Our beloved teacher, H.E. Jamyang Dagmo Kusho, is the niece of H.E. Dezhung Rinpoche III, co-founder of Sakya Tegchen Choling, the forerunner of Sakya Monastery, Seattle. In this lecture, Dagmo Kusho shares with us her first hand experiences with her uncle: his life; his leadership as Abbot of Tharlam Monastery Tibet and Nepal; their escape from the communists; their life in Seattle; and his teachings. As a living example of boundless compassion, selfless generosity, pure moral conduct, unwavering diligence, and unsurpassed wisdom, Dezhung Rinpoche inspired countless students to practice the Dharma. Furthermore, his life is documented in the book A Saint in Seattle, by David Jackson.
