253 - How to Safely Buy and Sell Scanners Online

Author: Phil Lichtenberger October 25, 2022 Duration: 34:24

Nobody wants to get burned when buying and selling online.

The internet can be a very unsafe place to exchange cash for goods, especially when you let your guard down.

I've been buying and selling radios online for several decades now, and I've learned a few hard mistakes, and I've also learned how to be cautious as well.

Here are some tips to staying safe online when you buy and sell radio equipment.

What You Need To Know

  • When Selling Online, create a detailed title to grab a buyer's attention
  • Don't skimp on the details.  Include the bad with the good.  This will help prevent returns and claims of fraudulent listings
  • Include plenty of pictures
  • If you want to include video, that can help show that the radio works and receives as intended.
  • When buying online, be sure to vette the seller on whatever platform you are using
  • Don't get caught up on having to win the auction and driving the price up too far
  • I recommend always using Paypal and stay away from "Friends and Family" transactions
  • Be sure to calculate your shipping costs in the total transaction
