We're starting to become more and more aware how important it is to set boundaries in various parts of our lives. But how do we set appropriate boundaries with those closest to us? And how does it affect our personal development? On this episode of Self-improvement Atlas: The Personal Science Insights Podcast, host Aditi Kutty is joined by Jacqui Senn, a licensed mental health counselor, and a motivational speaker, and they chat about what constitutes a boundary, how setting boundaries can help keep us safe, and how we need to constantly evaluate them and our needs to make sure they continue to keep us safe. In addition to being a licensed counselor, Jacqui is also a group therapist for young children and adolescents, also has worked a lot on relationships and boundaries. She discovered her passion for this work by sharing some of her life experiences with others. She soon realized that through her writing, speaking, and group work, people were experiencing transformations in their self-confidence and changed reactions when obstacles presented themselves in their lives. She continues this work today and has expanded her services to include individual therapy. She graduated in 2019 from Cambridge College with a Masters in Mental Health Counselling and she is a licensed LMHC in the state of Massachusetts.
