Dr. Javanbakht is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, founder and director of the Stress, Trauma, and Anxiety Research Clinic (STARC), a renowned research clinic at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

He researches the neurobiology of stress, anxiety, and PTSD in Syrian and Ukrainian refugees, and first responders, as well as emerging treatment methods, including highly innovative augmented reality technologies. His research has been continuously funded by institutions like the NIH, and has led to more than a hundred scientific publications and many invited speeches. In the clinic,  He works with patients with all sorts of anxieties, survivors of torture and human trafficking, refugees, and first responders.
