Happy New Year, my dear friends!

Text:

Well, hello again everyone! Today it is December 31. The last day of the year. For all Russians it's a very important holiday. I would say the main holiday. All relatives and friends gather together at a big table and celebrate the New Year. Also we summarize the results of the passing year of 2017. For me it's been a very difficult year. There were a lot of bad things. For example, my mother is very sick. And there were problems at work. But nevertheless, I hope that the next year, 2018, will be much better. Also I want to say thank you to all of you. Thank you for listening to me this year, watching my videos, writing touching emails to me. I truly appreciate it. And each listener of mine, each viewer, each student is very important to me. Thank you very much! And finally I want to wish you big happiness in the next year. That kind of happiness that would fill each day only with joy. Even if something bad happens, you would be able to accept it without gloom. It's very important to keep optimism inside, no matter what happens. I wish you happiness, good health and of course love, I wish only dear and caring people to surround you. I guess, that's it. Happy New Year, dear friends!

Daria Molchanova’s Slow Russian offers a patient, accessible path to understanding spoken Russian. As an experienced teacher, Daria structures each episode around clear, deliberately paced conversation, removing the common hurdle of native speed that can overwhelm learners. The core of this podcast is its namesake pace: spoken Russian delivered slowly enough to follow, yet naturally enough to feel authentic. Each segment typically includes a vocabulary breakdown, where key words and phrases are explained in context, turning listening practice into a direct lesson. Beyond grammar and pronunciation, Daria weaves in observations on Russian culture, traditions, and the nuances of daily life, providing the contextual glue that makes language stick. It’s designed for those who want to move beyond textbooks and engage with the rhythm and substance of the language in a manageable way. The result is a learning tool that feels less like a lecture and more like a guided tour of the Russian language, building comprehension and confidence with each slow-spoken episode. You can find more resources and episodes on the podcast’s main website.
