#42 Cate Scolnik - the importance of values in your business and how to incorporate them

Author: Pepper Makepeace: Entrepreneur, Business Systems & Social Media Marketing Strategy, Solopreneur Consulting July 4, 2021 Duration: 33:20
Cate Scolnik specialises in helping people build their business on Facebook starting from zero, without spending a cent on advertising. She has a unique ability to take the complex and make it simple, and she’s passionate about social media. Cate literally grew up in small business - her mother owned an antique shop and her father was a GP, Cate's earliest “professional” experience was answering the switchboard for her father’s medical practice. Cate started marketing way back in 1990 (before her kids were born, or online marketing was a ‘thing’). Today she focuses on helping other business owners using social media by teaching the exact strategies she uses in her agency, some of which she shares in this episode. Cate’s value-driven, customer-centric approach has made a huge difference to her business, especially during the current pandemic. In this episode we talk through why values are so important to business, how you can incorporate them into everything you do, and how they can help you increase your client base.

There's a particular kind of magic that happens when women building businesses decide to share their real stories-not just the polished highlights, but the messy middle parts, too. That’s the space you’ll find in the Small Business Sisterhood Podcast. Each conversation goes beyond surface-level advice, delving into the actual systems, the social media puzzles, and the personal hurdles that creative entrepreneurs and bloggers face daily. Host Pepper Makepeace brings her background as a strategist for solopreneurs into every interview, fostering discussions that feel like a candid chat between friends who just happen to be incredibly savvy about online business. This podcast serves as an audio extension of the Small Business Sisterhood community, offering a sense of connection and practical insight for anyone in those early, often isolating, stages of building something of their own. You’ll hear from a diverse range of female founders who detail what worked, what failed spectacularly, and how they navigated the path to a sustainable venture. It’s about finding your people and your strategy, one episode at a time.
