#250 - Shocking Backwoods Brutality - Dingess, West Virginia

Author: James Pietragallo, Jimmie Whisman November 18, 2021 Duration: 2:43:49

This week, in Dingess, West Virginia, the brutality is striking, when a woman's body is found, murdered, several times over, in a shallow grave, covered with twigs, but it's obvious that this was just the last stop, on a horrific ride. After rumors begin to swirl around this small town, the perpetrators of this heinous attack are brought to light, but their fingers are pointing in so many different directions, that it's hard to know who is telling the truth. One thing is for sure, and that's multiple people need to pay the price for what happened! Plus, an extra bonus short murder story, also from the backwoods of West Virginia, that is just as crazy as the main story!

Along the way, we find out that just because the town is named after you, doesn't mean you aren't trash, that some people have the capacity to inflict absolute horrors upon others, and that we have the best audience in podcasting!! Happy 250!!

There’s a particular kind of story that only seems to happen far from the big cities, where everyone knows each other’s business and the local gossip moves faster than the police. Small Town Murder digs into exactly those stories. Each week, hosts James Pietragallo and Jimmie Whisman-both comedians by trade-choose a different small community and pull apart the intricate social fabric that defines it, all before diving into a shocking homicide that shattered the town’s quiet existence. You’ll hear an astonishing amount of detailed research, painting a vivid picture of the place and the people involved, followed by the tragic, often bizarre, details of the crime itself. The unique appeal of this podcast lies in the hosts’ ability to balance that grim reality with a comedic, conversational tone that never disrespects the victims but finds the absurdity in the criminals and the situations surrounding them. It’s a blend of true crime curiosity and laugh-out-loud commentary that has built a dedicated audience. New episodes arrive every Thursday, offering a deep, oddly entertaining, and thoroughly human look at the darkest events in the most unexpected places.
