Somewhere Local

Somewhere Local is a space for the beats and ideas that don't fit neatly elsewhere, hosted by PHJ. This podcast often feels like flipping through a personal sketchbook of sounds, where individual tracks from projects like the debut album 'Not Ya Average Beat Tape' are given room to breathe and be heard on their own terms. You might encounter a standalone instrumental, a brief interlude of field recordings, or a simple groove that captures a specific moment in time. The focus is on the texture and mood of the music itself, offering a direct, unfiltered listen into the creative process. It’s less about formal discussion and more about the experience of the sound, making each episode a short, immersive visit somewhere local to the artist's mindset. Tune in for a consistently curated, atmospheric audio journey that prioritizes feeling over explanation.
