She is a painter and sculptor and enjoys countless hours working in her studio. She is also a self-published author with four children’s books under her belt and more to come. She is currently working on her first novel for the older child/youth. She has a BMEd in Music Education from James Madison University and taught for Yamaha Music School for more than a decade. 10 years ago, she decided that life changes were in order, so she left teaching music and embraced her lifelong love of art. During this time, she also founded the Monster Mashup Project, pairing children and adult artists to create magic and community spirit. It was also during this span that she served as Vice President of Art First Gallery and was head of Installation all while showing her work and writing her own series of books for the elementary age child. She lives in Fredericksburg, VA with her husband. Together they have 4 sons. Monster Mashup is her brain child, and combines child creativity, teaching opportunities and understanding of different perspectives into one great project.
