EP_022 - Jordan Robarge of Revival Chili

Author: Adam Simone. Listen to the StartUp Burgh podcast if you want to hear startup stories from the rapidly growing Pittsburgh entrepreneur scene. We'll talk to folks pioneering in tech, robotics, art, food+drink, education and more. Visit startupburgh.com March 9, 2017 Duration: 29:35
In this special episode number 22, I talk with Jordan Robarge who founded Revival Chili. Many people around Pittsburgh have already tasted Jordan's chili, and now he's looking for support from this community to take his business to the next level with a mobile food trailer. I talk with Jordan about starting his business, and also speak with one of his early employees Jacob. Revival Chili has a social mission to provide opportunities of employment to previously incarcerated individuals, and our conversations lead me to talk with Michael Van Ness from the Pittsburgh organization facilitating this aspect: Zero Six Eight. I also get a chance to talk with Christian Ference (CEO/co-founder) of Cropolis, which is building technology infrastructure that helps food business do business. It's an action packed episode, I can't wait for you to hear it!

There's a particular energy in Pittsburgh right now, a sense of building and reinvention that goes far beyond steel. StartUp Burgh Pittsburgh Entrepreneurs, StartUps, Business and Resources captures that momentum directly from the source. Hosted by Adam Simone, this podcast is a front-row seat to the city's evolving story, told through the voices of the people creating it. Each conversation digs into the real journey-the early ideas, the unexpected hurdles, and the local resources that make a difference. You'll hear from founders and innovators across a surprisingly diverse landscape, from advanced tech and robotics labs to artisanal food ventures, creative arts projects, and new approaches to education. The focus is always on the human experience behind the venture, offering practical insights and honest reflections rather than just polished success stories. For anyone curious about what it actually takes to launch something in this collaborative and historic city, or for entrepreneurs seeking connection and inspiration from a community on the rise, this podcast serves as an essential audio guide. Tune in to StartUp Burgh for authentic, grounded conversations that highlight why Pittsburgh has become such a fertile ground for new ideas.
