Have you or your family members ever experienced difficulties swallowing pills and capsules? ‘’My granny was the inspiration behind Boncha Bio. I was raised by my grandparents, we were very close and seeing her struggle to take her supplements for recovery after her stroke was heartbreaking’’ Corina Huang, founder of Boncha Bio, started the chat with a poignant story behind her entrepreneurship. She further shares that another reason to drive her each and every day is her three-year-old daughter. “Can you wait for me till I get old, then we can go to see Buddha together?” her daughter asked one day. She realised working in the healthcare industry could not only help people, but also help herself stay with her daughter into old age.

Inspired by granny and driven by daughter, Corina built Boncha Bio, a startup that turns pills into gummies, to ease the pain of consumers, lighten the load on caregivers, and make dysphagia a history. It partners with nutritional brands and pharmaceutical companies to design and manufacture candyceuticals that are both delicious and deliver high doses and industry-best bioavailability. In 2021, Corina was awarded an international female entrepreneur award, Cartier Women's Initiative Laureate, standing out from over 800 candidates in East Asia. Now, Boncha Bio plans to continuously approach enterprise clients in Europe and America in the coming years.

In this episode of Startup Island Taiwan Podcast, you will find out:
