Around 6:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2020, a woman named Maranda Alford burst into a police station in Little Rock, Arkansas, to notify authorities that her 11-year-old son, Jordan Roberts, had been taken hostage in their home by her fiancé, 32-year-old Brent Martin.

Police rushed to the scene, soon followed by a swarm of upwards of 40 SWAT team members. When the first officers on the scene arrived, they heard gunfire from inside the house.

This is the tragic story of Jordan Roberts.
