Episode 138: Stevie Osborn

Episode 138: Stevie Osborn

Author: Suffer the Little Children June 9, 2023 Duration: 1:11:32
(This is a re-edit of an episode released in March, which was taken down shortly after release.)

On December 23, 2019, two-year-old Stevie Osborn was rushed to the hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, suffering from bruises all over her body, two skull fractures, and massive bleeding on the brain. After Stevie died during life-saving surgery, her death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head. A report by child services pointed the finger squarely at two individuals, but a shocking act by the prime suspect in Stevie’s murder brought the police investigation to a screeching halt.

In this episode, you’ll hear my conversation with Stevie’s dad, Gary Osborn, who refuses to give up hope of seeing justice for his baby girl.

This is the story of a little girl whose violent death has received almost zero media coverage and has never resulted in criminal charges. It’s also the story of a heartbroken family who will do anything they can to keep her memory alive and to get some semblance of justice for her murder.

This is the infuriating story of Stevie Osborn.

Suffer the Little Children centers on the stories of children lost to abuse and murder, aiming to restore their narratives and dignity beyond the headlines. This podcast meticulously details individual cases, often weaving in the perspectives of surviving family members and advocates to create a fuller, more human picture of each tragedy. The host approaches these difficult subjects with a commitment to factual clarity and a deep sense of respect, ensuring the victims are remembered as people, not just statistics. Listeners will hear detailed examinations of systemic failures, legal proceedings, and the long-term impact on communities, framed within broader discussions about child welfare and protection. It is a challenging but necessary listen, designed to foster awareness and understanding rather than sensationalism.
