Being The Greatest - An Interview With Candice Appleby

Being The Greatest - An Interview With Candice Appleby

Author: Simon Hutchinson November 22, 2021 Duration: 1:13:44

No better way to sign off this season, than with a genuine legend and the bona fide queen of the sport, Candice Appleby. A true SUP, surf and SUP surf icon.

Candice has been described by ESPN, the US sports broadcaster, as being a combination of Venus Williams and a whole bunch of other superlative US female sports stars, all rolled up into one package.

Candice was there on Waikiki beach when SUP was starting, and was an early racer and she's delivered a staggering amount of wins across distance, technical and surfing over a huge number of years.

In this interview we talk about her origins, her cross-sport and event training and what coaching advice she'd give to a novice Candice...if she were starting again now.

Candice loves coaching and YOU can also be coached by the legend of SUP racing, through her Ocean Academy here
