Holiday Highlights – Fiona Wylde, Lizzie Carr and Maddi Leblanc

Holiday Highlights – Fiona Wylde, Lizzie Carr and Maddi Leblanc

Author: Simon Hutchinson December 21, 2020 Duration: 58:00

As we enter the holiday season, it gives us the opportunity to look back at 2020 and revisit some of the highlights from our interviews.

While 2020 was a year to forget, it was also a time which sharpened our focus on what was important in life, and for us, returning to the podcast was something which provided some much needed distraction at a very challenging time.

We want to sent a big 'thank you' to all our guests who joined us over the 10 months and who have all provided us (and hopefully you, the listeners) with some distraction and inspiration, which will help you with your paddling journeys in 2021.

We've chatted to a number of incredible women paddlers this year, and in this episode we feature three of them, with some best bits from interviews in Season Two.

First we speak to Fiona Wylde, champion racer and surfer who has succeeded as a top athlete despite being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Second we have some highlights from Lizzie Carr's chat. As a cancer survivor, Lizzie has made a number of brave decisions starting with throwing in her corporate job and going on a number of adventures to highlight the state of our oceans and inland waterways.

Finally we have Canadian Maddi LeBlanc, top level racer, enviromentalist, academic, instructor and winner of the top worldwide award, Woman Of The Year, from SUP Connect in 2020.

All the full episodes are still available to listen to for free, alongside all our other episodes from 2020

We'd like to give our biggest thanks to you, our listeners for all your support this year and for your active involvement in the show. We've passed 10,000 downloads and we're continuing to build new listeners across the world, as we connect with our international SUP tribe...

We'd really love to find out what paddle activities or targets you've got planned for 2021 and if you drop us a brief message at https://www.speakpipe.com/SUPfm your message could feature on a future episode!

Thank you once again for all your support and we look forward to seeing you on the water in 2021!
