On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Alex Brasky, creator of Buffalo Pregame for Substack to talk several topics revolving around the start of Buffalo Bills training camp this week in Rochester.
There's not a ton of prominent battles expected for roster sports or depth chart positioning with Bills camp but that doesn't mean there's a lack of interesting storylines, including a solid handful that we don't yet a solid idea how they'll play out. Among them Patrick and Alex discuss is while James Cook will report to camp, will he be a full participant when camp starts and as it progresses. Cook has been very public about wanting a new contract and it doesn't feel like the Bills are willing to accompany a price he's looking for at this time. It was certainly encouraging that Cook reported to and participated fully during Bills mandatory mini camp in May, but him being a "hold in" is definitely on the table at St. John's Fisher.
Also discussed is an expected battle between the veteran Tre White and first-round rookie Max Hairston to see who starts at cornerback alongside Christian Benford. Elijah Moore vs Curtis Samuel to be a notable part of the offense is something else we could see play out over the next few weeks. Also, Mitch Trubisky will be pushed by Mike White to for the QB2 job. Also, who ends up being the primary kick and/or punt returner?
