Our 400th Episode (Featuring Joe Yerdon)

Author: Blue Wire December 29, 2021 Duration: 1:01:06

On this milestone 400th episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined inside his home studio in West Seneca by friend and regular guest, sports media personality Joe Yerdon for a discussion focused around an exciting time for the Buffalo Sabres, Christmas, an overreacting New England Patriots fan and more.

A fixture on the podcast especially over the past year, Joe chats about Patrick’s world-famous shredded chicken, Christmas season and vinyl records before diving into some Sabres talk. With Covid yet again rearing it’s ugly head the Sabres have called up three exciting prospects to make their Sabres debut on Wednesday night, including J.J. Peterka and Peyton Krebs. That plus the debut of Alex Tuch has given fans legitimate reason for optimism and excitement. Joe discusses what he thinks the role of the new players will be as well as how long he expects them up for.

Also, a New England Patriots fan called into a Boston radio show after the Bills trounced them on Sunday and thinks the world of Josh Allen and not so much his own quarterback, Mac Jones. The guys have a good laugh at a frustrated Patriots fan expense—that and much more.

Thank you so much for continuing to listen and helping this podcast get to 400 episodes!

There's a particular kind of passion that comes from following Buffalo sports, a mix of unwavering hope and hardened realism that Talking Buffalo captures perfectly. Hosted by Buffalo-born Patrick Moran, this Blue Wire podcast dives deep into the heart of the city's teams, with a primary focus on the emotional rollercoasters provided by the Bills and Sabres. Patrick doesn't just report on games; he lives them, offering a perspective that can swing from critical skepticism to full-blown optimism in a single conversation. That authentic, sometimes self-deprecating fan voice is exactly what drives each episode. The show regularly features interviews with guests from across the sports world, media, and even pop culture, providing unique angles and insider insights you won't find elsewhere. It’s this blend of local passion, candid analysis, and diverse conversations that gives the podcast its character. You'll hear the highs, the lows, and all the gritty commentary in between, all filtered through the experience of someone who truly understands what it means to invest in these teams. For anyone who bleeds blue and red or simply appreciates the complex narrative of a sports city, Talking Buffalo feels like a conversation with a knowledgeable, and admittedly opinionated, friend.
