Anthony Pappalardo joins me this week to share about his life so far. Aside from being an accomplished writer who has had his work published in notable skateboarding and media outlets such as Slap Magazine, Transworld Skateboarding, Monster Children, Jenkem, and Vice (to name a few), he has also worked with a variety of culturally significant brands. Anthony discusses his early life growing up in a blended Italian/American household on the East Coast of the USA, finding skateboarding, finding music, his academic pathways, falling in love with writing, personal observations on modern day society, culture, and much more.
We also touch upon the main themes outlined in his books Radio Silence: A selected Visual History of American Hardcore Music and Skateboarding, Power, and Change .
Anthony is humble, measured and considerate. He commented on the importance of self-educating before speaking publicly. I liked that.
