Few pieces of pop music have dented a career quite like Robbie Williams’ Rudebox, so I’m so glad to finally be able to talk about this weird electro-rap song about how TK Maxx costs less and how you don’t sweat much for a fat lass. Once called the worst song ever, is it (whisper it) actually a brilliant piece of 2000s pop? We find out on the latest episode of the music history podcast where every week we relive the singles chart from this week 20 years ago.

Elsewhere on the pop music charts this week in 2006: Nelly Furtado’s US number one finally gets its UK release - which Nelly seems intent to destroy the memory of with her weird new version.
