That's the kind of cold that bites through any jacket in seconds. Fairbanks climbs all the way to 1 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. A remarkable 32-degree swing from dawn to mid-afternoon. In the next 24 hours. Down in Southcentral, it's cold but more manageable. Anchorage sits at minus 5 degrees early this morning. You'll reach 17 degrees by late afternoon. Snow moves in after 9 A.M. — just a chance, nothing heavy yet. Southeast Alaska? A completely different world. Juneau hovers near 27 degrees with snow showers overnight. Temperatures surge to 40 degrees today. Rain takes over by afternoon. That's nearly three-quarters of an inch of rainfall possible. Tonight's full moon will shine bright over the Interior. But clouds will spoil the view elsewhere. Heads up for the Alaska Peninsula. A Blizzard Warning kicks in at 3 P.M. Thursday. Four to twelve inches of snow. Winds gusting to 50 miles an hour.
