Bio:

Curriculum My name is Francisco Machado and I am a professional and music lover. At 9 years old I had contact with the world of music in social projects for low-income young people. I am very grateful for that! My main instrument is the ganzá, an afro-indigenous rattle widely used in samba and other Brazilian rhythms. I studied blowing (flute, baroque and pife), guitar, singing and percussion. I started my musical training in percussion at Bloco das Carmelitas, in Santa Teresa. I continued my studies in another social project, the Bloco Rio Maracatu, in which I was invited to be the monitor of the workshops and musician of the concert block.   Then, I became responsible for the rattle wing of Bloco Picada de Primeira, being invited to conduct and beep at the workshop, in addition to being in charge of the musical direction of the show. Among the works, I highlight the musical direction and conducting of the Funk Carousel of Emotions Block, performing more than 300 shows in all states of Brazil, participating in a tour in Europe and recording their DVD of the block, in Rio de Janeiro. I also highlight the performance as a percussionist in the band of the great Mestre Naná Vasconcellos, at the Festival Black2Black. I was invited to be a teacher of ganzá at the Maracatu Brasil Music School and I offer my classes as an experience through the Airbnb platform. In 2018, I created the Ganzanzá instrument (transparent ganzá) and the brand ChicoChocalho, selling in 2019, more than 100 rattles all over the world. In April 2019, I completed 20 years of musical studies. To celebrate, I realized a child's dream of having my own block for studying percussion. And thus NossoBloco was born, which aims to study, research and value Brazilian percussion, with a methodology adapted to each type of student and with more accessible values. In November 2019, with the objective of valuing the rattle and Brazilian percussion, I launched the Repercussion Project, teaching the Rhythm and Rattle Workshops in different states of Brazil, taking and sharing their knowledge with other musicians, percussionists and rhythm players. I am currently a musician and musical director of several carnival blocks in Rio and rhythmist of the samba schools Acadêmicos do Sossego, Unidos de Vila Isabel and Acadêmicos da Grande Rio.

Me chamo Francisco Machado e sou um profissional e amante da música.​

Aos 9 anos tive contato com o mundo da música em projetos sociais para jovens​ de baixa renda.
Sou muito grato por isso!

Meu principal instrumento é o ganzá,​
um chocalho afro-indígena muito utilizado no samba e outros ritmos brasileiros.​

Estudei sopro (flauta doce, barroca e pife), violão, canto e percussão.​
Comecei minha formação musical na percussão no Bloco das Carmelitas, em​ Santa Teresa.

Dei continuidade aos meus estudos em outro projeto social, o​ Bloco Rio Maracatu, no qual fui convidado para ser monitor das oficinas e​ músico do bloco show.

Depois, passei a ser o responsável pela ala de chocalhos​ do Bloco Picada de Primeira, sendo convidado a reger e a apitar na Oficina, além​ de estar à frente da direção musical do bloco show.

Entre os trabalhos,​ destaco a direção musical e regência do Bloco Funk Carrossel de Emoções, realizando mais de 300 show em todos os estados do Brasil, participando uma turnê na Europa e a gravação do seu DVD do bloco, no Rio de Janeiro.

Destaco ainda a atuação como percussionista na banda do grande Mestre Naná Vasconcellos, no Festival Black2Black.

Fui convidado para ser professor de ganzá na Escola de Música Maracatu Brasil e ofereço​ minhas aulas como experiência através da plataforma Airbnb.

Em 2018, criei o​
instrumento Ganzanzá
(ganzá transparente) e a marca ChicoChocalho, vendendo em 2019, mais de 100 chocalhos por todo o mundo.​

Em Abril de 2019, completei 20 anos de estudos musicais.
Para celebrar, realizei​ um sonho de criança de ter meu próprio bloco para estudo da percussão.​

E assim nasceu o NossoBloco, que tem o objetivo de estudar, pesquisar e​ valorizar a percussão brasileira, com uma metodologia adaptada a cada tipo de​ aluno e com valores mais acessíveis.​

Em Novembro de 2019,
com o objetivo de valorização do chocalho e da percussão​ brasileira, lancei o Projeto Repercussão, ministrando o Workshops de ritmos e de chocalho por diversos estados do Brasil, levando e compartilhando seu conhecimento com outros músicos, percussionistas e ritimista.

Atualmente, sou músico e​
diretor musical de diversos blocos de carnaval do Rio e ritmista das escolas de samba Acadêmicos do Sossego, Unidos de Vila Isabel e da Acadêmicos da Grande Rio.
