Today on the Catholic Morning Show

Austin Neal -  This morning we talk with Iowa Homeless Youth Centers Community Engagement Coordinator, Austin Neal. Austin tells us his story to his involvement and the power every Iowan has to help the homeless of our state. While there may be few compared to other states, many need our help.

Austin tells all about Reggie's Sleepout.

For nearly 20 years, Reggie’s Sleepout has brought our community together to raise awareness and funds for youth experiencing homelessness in Central Iowa.

The event honors Reggie Kelsey, a young man who aged out of foster care without the support he needed—his tragic death in 2001 sparked a statewide movement. Participants build creative cardboard structures to sleep in overnight, while enjoying community activities, food, and fun—all in support of a serious cause. Reggie’s Sleepout is more than a fundraiser; it’s a night of unity, reflection, and action that helps provide hope and opportunity for vulnerable youth.
Join them on November 1st starting at 12pm at Mediacom Stadium as we continue Reggie’s legacy and work toward ending youth homelessness for good.
