Hour 3 - We Need More Whistleblowers

Hour 3 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show dives deep into explosive revelations about the weaponization of federal agencies, urban crime crises, and the Trump administration’s aggressive push to restore law and order. Buck opens the hour with an exclusive conversation with Senator Ron Johnson, who reacts to shocking news that Republican senators’ cell phone data was secretly scooped up during Jack Smith’s January 6th investigation. Johnson calls it an “outrageous violation of separation of powers,” warning that partisan operatives burrowed inside agencies and continue to sabotage reforms. He urges whistleblowers to come forward and stresses that exposure is the first step toward accountability.

The discussion turns to legislative gridlock and the government shutdown, with Johnson blasting Democrats for holding out on Obamacare subsidies and predicting they will cave under pressure. He highlights the failure of the appropriations process and warns that weak-kneed Republicans could undermine conservative principles if they agree to extend pandemic-era subsidies, which he says have fueled “tens of billions in fraud.” Johnson also weighs in on the upcoming James Comey trial, calling Comey and his cohort “a cast of criminals” whose actions inflicted more damage on U.S. democracy than foreign adversaries ever could.

Buck then shifts focus to crime and public safety, spotlighting Chicago’s staggering 110,000 gang members and 1,200 shootings this year alone. He slams Mayor Brandon Johnson for opposing Trump’s plan to deploy the National Guard and mocks the mayor’s rhetoric about “defending humanity” as delusional. Buck contrasts Democratic obstruction with the Trump administration’s results-driven approach, featuring FBI Director Kash Patel’s update: double-digit increases in arrests of violent offenders, fentanyl seizures, and child rescues in just eight months. Patel emphasizes that “the weaponization of law enforcement is over” and that federal agents are finally focused on crushing violent crime instead of political vendettas.

The hour also covers Portland’s lawlessness, where DHS Secretary Kristi Noem threatens to flood the city with federal officers after the mayor refuses to back security measures. Buck argues that Democrats consistently side with criminals over victims, citing examples from property crime policies in San Francisco to leniency for repeat violent offenders. He frames Trump’s crackdown as a defining contrast between the left’s permissiveness and the right’s commitment to law enforcement and public safety.

Listener talkbacks close the hour with fiery calls demanding accountability for Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the mainstream media, while Buck reiterates that statutes of limitations limit prosecutions but insists the Comey case signals the start of a broader reckoning.
