The fund, backed by Epstein’s estate and administered by attorney Kenneth Feinberg, was designed to avoid prolonged litigation by offering payouts without requiring survivors to go through the courts. However, in exchange for compensation, claimants were required to waive their right to pursue future civil lawsuits against the estate.
