Friday, Mar 6 - Bridge Over Filthy Water

Three people were recently arrested in connection with a burglary in New Fairfield, according to police. Authorities say two of the suspects are from Pawling, New York, while the third is from New Milford, Connecticut. The case has drawn some local attention because of the cross-state connection and the unusual circumstances surrounding the alleged break-in. In another story that raised plenty of eyebrows, a developer has proposed building a massive bridge that would connect Bridgeport, Connecticut to Long Island. The project reportedly carries a staggering $50 billion price tag, which immediately sparked debate about whether something that ambitious could ever actually happen. Meanwhile, the mysterious “Cracker Barrel man” made another appearance, delivering his usual string of scattered and somewhat haphazard sentences that left everyone trying to piece together exactly what he meant. Lou also took some time to vent about a comment made by Keith Olbermann, who referred to legendary football coach Lou Holtz as a “scumbag” on the day Holtz passed away. The remark didn’t sit well with Lou, who felt the timing and tone were completely out of line. Later on, Mertman called into the show to talk about the latest scam he’s dealing with, which somehow led Lou to start wondering what ever happened to a couple of the show’s more memorable characters, including Sour Shoes and the Solar Man, both of whom seem to have disappeared from the radar lately. And to wrap things up on a lighter note, comedian Rory Scovel is scheduled to perform at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, giving local comedy fans something fun to look forward to.
