Lou recaps his weekend, including an unexpected encounter with a British I-95 Morning Show fan at the Sugar Hollow Tap Room on Saturday. Lou also spent part of the weekend broadcasting live from the Greater New Milford Open at Candlewood Valley Country Club.
A group of podcast hosts were absolutely floored by an incredibly robotic impression of Stephen Hawking that was performed entirely using someone’s voice during a game of “Is This Offensive?” The impression was apparently so bizarrely accurate that it completely stopped the game in its tracks.
There’s also a viral TikTok making the rounds in which a couple claims that Shake Shack appears to be charging customers more for certain menu items if they choose not to leave a tip. Shake Shack says that is NOT its policy and says the company is investigating what happened at that particular location. So, for now, it appears to be either a mistake or something specific to that restaurant rather than an official Shake Shack policy.
A man and a woman recently wanted to go out to a restaurant, but they ran into a problem when they discovered the restaurant had a dress code prohibiting men from wearing sleeveless shirts. Rather than give up on dinner, they went back out to the parking lot, switched shirts, and walked right back in. Problem solved. Sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got.
A woman in Wisconsin has been arrested after allegedly stealing an ambulance pickup truck and taking it for a drive while completely naked. There are a lot of questions here, but the biggest one might be: Why was she naked in the first place?
Britney Spears also took to Instagram to warn her fans about Botox after she says she recently had a bad experience with the cosmetic treatment. Britney claims the procedure caused some disfigurement to her face and shared the experience with her followers as a warning to be careful when choosing who performs the treatment.
Meanwhile, The Cure’s Robert Smith has topped a ranking of the greatest New Wave singers. Smith took the number one spot, followed by David Byrne of Talking Heads at number two and Blondie’s Debbie Harry at number three. That’s a pretty impressive top three, although I’m sure there are plenty of New Wave fans who would have a few arguments about the order.
And finally, a former Wendy’s manager on Cape Cod is headed to Yale University on a full scholarship. The student was able to attend community college with financial help from the owners of the Wendy’s where he worked, and that support ultimately helped put him on the path to Yale. It’s a pretty great reminder that sometimes a little help from the right people can completely change someone’s future.
