Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples joins the festival podcast to shed light on the true essence of music festivals while assessing how to bridge the gap amongst the EDM and Hip Hop community. Rakaa also speaks upon the new era of hip hop, and shares his perspective of the most memorable festival moments in Dilated Peoples' history!

As the music festival culture continues to creatively find solutions to keep the festival spirit upbeat during this moment in time, we believe this is also the time to self-reflect on how we can improve the overall festival experience for this generation and the next. There has been a large debate between the Hip Hop and the EDM community surrounding unique cultural differences-- however we should remember that whether you are a raver, a burner, or a hip hop head, we can each learn from one another. You would be surprised on how intertwined every genre of music is--each genre inspires another and there will be new genres will continue to emerge in the future! Whether you listen to house music, dubstep, trap, hip hop, or any genre, we each play an integral role in representing the festival scene. Let's learn from each other and embrace all aspects of the festival community.

Rakaa Iriscience is a member of DIlated Peoples, a legendary "underground" hip hop group from the west coast. With Iconic tracks such as "Worst Comes to Worst" and "This Way (feat. Kanye West and John Legend) ", Dilated Peoples have performed at numerous festivals worldwide and have made a direct impact on hip hop and festival culture over the last two decades plus!

Step behind the curtain and into the vibrant, chaotic, and deeply human world of live music gatherings with The Festiie Files: The Music Festival Podcast. Hosted by Festiie, this series is built on conversations that go far beyond the lineup poster. Each episode features candid interviews with the people who give these events their pulse: the musicians who travel from stage to stage, the dedicated vendors who craft the festival's unique atmosphere, and the passionate attendees whose shared energy creates a temporary community. These discussions delve into the unspoken rhythms, the logistical triumphs and headaches, the spontaneous connections, and the collective spirit that defines the scene. It’s a raw and authentic look at the ecosystem that exists between the beats. Created as a lifeline for the global festival family during a period of isolation, the podcast continues to serve as a meeting point for stories that might otherwise go unheard. Listening to The Festiie Files feels like finding your crowd at the back of a sun-drenched field or under a canopy of night lights, offering a sense of connection and insider perspective no matter where you are. You’ll hear firsthand accounts of life on the road, the artistry behind the scenes, and the simple, powerful reasons people return to these dusty fields and crowded campsites year after year. This is for anyone who has ever felt that specific ache for a bassline thumping through their chest or the shared smile of a stranger in a crowd.
