Extra: Former Iran Hostage on Torture, Hope, and Survival

Author: FOX News Radio March 23, 2026 Duration: 30:58
Kevin Hermening was one of the Iranian regime's first victims of terror, among the Americans taken hostage in 1979. Held for more than a year, Hermening endured physical and mental torture before being freed in January 1981. Nearly 50 years later, Hermening is a Republican running for Congress, hoping to represent his home district in Wisconsin. He recently joined FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony to discuss his experience being held captive and what it was like being one of the 66 Americans kidnapped by Iran. He described the brutality he witnessed, what gave him hope, and what it was like returning home. He also weighed in on Operation Epic Fury and who should decide Iran’s political future if the current regime collapses. We often have to cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full conversation. Today on the FOX News Rundown Extra, we share our entire interview with former Iranian hostage Kevin Hermening, allowing you to hear even more about his harrowing experience and his perspective on America’s military actions against Iran.
