FF - EP 51 [Soul & R&B Influence]

Hosted by Jason Marx, The Funk Foundation is a deep and joyous excavation of the grooves that move us. This podcast operates on one simple, powerful principle: if it's funky, it belongs. Each episode is a curated journey that ignores borders, eras, and rigid genre classifications, weaving together sounds from the foundational to the futuristic. You'll hear the raw soul of classic R&B, the relentless pulse of disco, the synthesized bounce of G-funk, and the sampled breaks that built hip-hop. The mix might travel from rare groove obscurities and the passionate energy of Northern Soul to the four-on-the-floor drive of Chicago House and the melodic flair of Italo. More than just a music stream, this is a show with context and commentary, offering historical insights and personal reflections on the tracks and artists that define funk's vast universe. It's a celebration of the connective thread-that undeniable, rhythmic feeling-that ties decades of music together. Tune in to The Funk Foundation for a consistently eclectic and expertly spun selection that reminds you why the funk endures.
