The Funky Vibes Mixtape: August 2026

Jim and Andy, the duo behind HB & JOHNSON, bring a combined half-century of DJ experience to every episode of The Funky Vibes Mixtape. Their history includes spinning records and hosting club nights across the Midlands during a vibrant era for dance music. After reconnecting in 2025, they launched this monthly podcast to share the sounds that defined their careers and continue to inspire them. Tune in on the fourth Thursday of each month for a carefully curated journey through house music's rich spectrum. The selections are rooted in a deep love for the genre's foundations, weaving together classic grooves, soulful rhythms, funky basslines, and deep, atmospheric cuts. You'll also hear disco influences that connect the past to the present, all mixed with the seamless flow honed from years behind the decks. This isn't just a playlist; it's a reflection of a lifelong passion for dancefloor energy and musical discovery. Each installment of the podcast offers a two-hour session designed for listening anywhere-whether you're driving, working, or simply needing a quality musical escape. The vibe is consistent: no pretense, just expertly selected tracks blended for pure listening pleasure. For anyone who appreciates the craft of DJing and the enduring appeal of house music in all its forms, The Funky Vibes Mixtape delivers a reliable and engaging mix month after month.
