The Gothic Moose by DJ Moose
From a basement in Montreal, the air thick with the hum of analog synthesizers and the scent of incense, The Gothic Moose emerges each week. Curated by veteran selector DJ Moose, this podcast is a dedicated journey into the deeper, darker corners of alternative music. Itโs not just a playlist; itโs a carefully constructed atmosphere, a sixty-minute escape where the lines between melancholy and energy blur. Youโll hear the driving percussion and distorted vocals of classic industrial, the haunting, ethereal melodies of darkwave, and the timeless basslines of post-punk, all woven together with the seamless intuition of someone who has lived within this scene for decades. DJ Moose acts as a quiet guide, letting the music itself tell the story-a story of catharsis, of rhythm in the shadows, of beauty found in minor keys. The selections are both a tribute to the foundational artists and a spotlight on the new voices carrying the torch forward. For anyone who finds solace in the dramatic, or whose pulse syncs to a drum machine, this weekly mix offers a consistent, reliable sanctuary. Tune in and let the soundscape of The Gothic Moose transform your space, whether youโre navigating city streets at night or simply seeking a resonant backdrop for introspection. Itโs a personal invitation into a community built on sound, broadcast from the heart of the underground.
