I. Love. Ayurveda.❤️

And, today, on Episode #110 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, I’m sharing that love by talking about 3 steps for using Ayurveda to bring balance⚖️ to your everyday life.

Step 1: Practicing Mindfulness

The simple act of asking yourself, “How am I feeling?”🤔 helps ground you in the present moment and notice what is happening in and around you.

And it doesn’t have to be some grand revelation.

Maybe you’re:

⭐Tired

⭐Grateful

⭐Overwhelmed

⭐Hungry

⭐Content

⭐Happy

Just embrace🤗 however you are feeling in the moment.

Step 2: Noticing the “Why”

Once you recognize how you are feeling, ask yourself: “Why am I feeling this way?”🤷‍♀️

  • I’m tired because I haven’t been sleeping well.
  • I’m grateful because my neighbor collected my mail while I was on vacation.
  • I’m overwhelmed because I haven’t completed as much of my summer to-do list as I wanted.
  • I’m hungry because I skipped breakfast.
  • I’m content because my family is all together for the weekend.
  • I’m happy because we’re leaving in the morning for a vacation I’ve been looking forward to.

Finding your “why” makes that feeling make sense.🫶

It’s your own little ah-ha moment when you understand the root cause of the feeling and can take that knowledge and plan for more (or less😉) of that.

Step 3: Make a Choice to Keep it or Change it

Now you can start planning ahead✍️ to the rest of your day, week, month, or even year.

If you recognize that skipping breakfast makes you miserably hungry before lunchtime, try meal prepping some simple heat-and-eat breakfasts🍳 so you won’t be tempted to skip out when you are short on time.⏰

If having your family all together brings you a feeling of contentment and peace🥰, reach out and plan a get-together. And maybe even stack that with a little vacation for some happiness, as well!🙌

If you haven’t been sleeping well, dig deeper into why that might be:

✅Going to bed later

✅Too much screen time before bed

✅Eating too late

✅Need a new mattress or pillow

Then make a plan to correct the cause so that you can rest easier and wake up refreshed and ready for a day of mindfulness and planning for peace.😊
