Episode #61 of the Hindu Parenting Podcast features a conversation with Trivikram Gajulapalli about his unique cross-cultural film, “Chiquita” in which a middle-aged biker from Texas comes into contact with the Divine Feminine, also known as the Devi in Sanatana Dharma. This short film goes into unexplored territory - the experiences of American Hindus.

Why should it matter to an Indian Hindu? Or a Hindu of Indian descent? Because the movie brings out the universalism of Sanatana Dharma. We see that anyone who is intelligent and asks fundamental questions about the individual and the world, will eventually be attracted to Sanatana Dharma.

There are many things an Indian Hindu can learn from this unmissable short film - how Hinduism is different in its scope and approach, how Hindus accept diversity naturally, and how aggressive evangelism can be questioned confidently.

Trivikram Gajulapalli is a filmmaker whose unique work bridges two different cultures. He is a U.S.-based filmmaker and purpose-driven entrepreneur. He has written, directed, and produced feature films and award-winning shorts. He sees immense potential in cross-cultural Indic cinema, a vision reflected in his latest film, Chiquita. Chiquita is the story of an American biker who encounters Devi in a mysterious way. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and YouTube. As the founder of Veenaa Vedika, he champions authentic storytelling and is guided by the principles of Dharma and Karma.
