Ep. 93 - Short Term vs. Long Term

Ep. 93 - Short Term vs. Long Term

Author: hobbies + happiness, LLC May 24, 2023 Duration: 1:27:24
Got another good topic to discuss this week, and it's kind of a continuation of last weeks episode. In case you missed it, last week we talked a lot about the upcoming Star Wars TCG, Star Wars Unlimited. We're optimistic, but pretty hesitant, as it's coming from FFG, who doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to Star Wars card games. In that conversation, we touched on companies, their goals, profits etc. One of the things we touched on was winning in the short term and winning in the long term. This came to mind again when watching a recent YouTube video from Linus Sebastion of Linus Tech Tips. He recently released a video saying he was stepping down from the CEO position at LTT, and was a really great video. I encourage you all to go check it out. So watching that video made us revisit this topic, so we hope you enjoy! Dan and Jim host The Hobbies + Happiness Podcast: A Disney Lorcana Podcast, a weekly conversation dedicated to the shared experience of playing the Disney Lorcana card game with friends. While many focus on competitive one-on-one duels, this show explores the vibrant, chaotic, and strategic world of multiplayer formats. Every episode picks apart a specific topic, from deck-building philosophies tailored for a table of players to the social dynamics that emerge when three or four Illuminees clash. The discussion always circles back to how these multiplayer considerations shape the broader game, influencing card choices and overall strategy. You’ll hear genuine analysis and personal stories about why gathering around a table for a multiplayer game creates a uniquely engaging and fun way to enjoy Lorcana. This isn't just about rules and combos; it's about the laughter, the alliances, and the unexpected moments that make the game memorable. Produced by hobbies + happiness, LLC, the podcast serves as a thoughtful resource for players looking to deepen their enjoyment of Lorcana beyond the standard match, emphasizing how shared hobbies contribute to genuine connection and fun. Tune in for a regular dose of insight that will change how you view your next game night.
