#287 I Took a Train from London to Romania

#287 I Took a Train from London to Romania

Author: Michael Lavers August 28, 2024 Duration: 48:34

I just came back from a trip in Europe and I thought I'd get on the microphone today and review some of the good and bad experiences I had there.

I made the adventurous decision to travel from London all the way to Istanbul by train (listen to the episode to see why I didn't make it all the way!)

In this episode, I talk about my experience sleeping on trains, my time in each country, and why I suddenly changed my travel plans. There are also some useful expressions and vocabulary to help improve your English throughout.

This is a very casual, chatty episode, so hopefully you don't mind. You're always welcome to comment your feedback on the shownotes page (link below)

Michael Lavers has spent years as an online teacher, and that experience shapes every episode of The Level Up English Podcast. Rather than dry lectures, he builds each conversation around engaging, often unexpected topics-from daily life in Britain to broader themes of motivation and culture. The idea is to absorb natural British English as it’s genuinely spoken, picking up vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical nuances in a context that actually holds your interest. You might explore a specific language challenge one week and dive into a completely random, fun subject the next. Monthly guest episodes add further dimension, featuring conversations with other teachers or specialists. This approach turns the learning process into something far more organic. The podcast is designed for those who want to move beyond textbooks and feel more connected to the language, hearing it used in lively, authentic discussions. It’s a regular dose of English practice that feels less like study and more like tuning into a good conversation, steadily building confidence and comprehension along the way.
